Review Proposals

PyOhio is a community event so we want the talk selection to represent the interests of the community. This means getting feedback from people across all skill levels and backgrounds.

We want you to review proposals.

To sign-up as a reviewer:

  1. (Register if you haven't already and) sign-in to your account on this site.

  2. Go to the dashboard page: http://www.pyohio.org/dashboard/

  3. Scroll to the bottom and look for the Teams box.

  4. Join the proposal reviewers team.

Once signed-up, to review:

  1. Reload the Dashboard screen. You should see a new 'Reviews' section.

  2. Read through as many proposals as you can. Sort by total number of reviews and try to review the talks that have the least total reviews first.

  3. Use the speaker feedback tab if you want to ask questions, get clarification, or recommend changes to the proposal.

Scoring:

Scoring is used during the first round of the selection process to provide the selection committee input on which submissions have the greatest interest. Please use the following guidelines for scoring:

  • +1 — Good proposal and I will argue for it to be accepted.
  • +0 — OK proposal, but I will not argue for it to be accepted.
  • −0 — Weak proposal, but I will not argue strongly against acceptance.
  • −1 — Serious issues and I will argue to reject this proposal.

If someone has submitted multiple proposals, score them individually and in isolation. If you have a preference for which talk you think would be a better fit for PyOhio, note that in the reviewer comments.

Note: If you have submitted a proposal, you will not see it listed in reviewer mode. This is to prevent people from voting on their own talks.
